About Us

Agape Counseling Service, PLLC was founded by Sherry Borlabi, MSMHC, NCC, LPC-S, CSAT, BSP in 2019.

After doing her own work in recovery, Sherry   felt free and realized she could actually create her own reality. She decided to become a therapist so she could help others achieve this as well. Sherry  's goal   was and still is   to build a practice of   compassionate   and  relatable therapists   eager and ready to   help  those who are looking to recover from whatever it is that is holding them back in life.

Together, you and your therapist, will face what needs facing, heal what needs healing, and finally end the emotional suffering that you have been experiencing for so long.

At Agape,  it is our absolute mission to help you discover that you have the power to make positive changes and you no longer have to feel 'stuck'.

What Is "Agape"?

From the second Sherry decided to go back to school and become a therapist she knew one day she wanted to have a private practice and in some way "Agape" would be the foundation of her brand and the essence of her company. It all derives from what it means to her as well as wanting to share "Agape Love" with others who have been wounded and in need of healing.

"Agape Love" means;  "God's immeasurable, incomparable love for his creation in humankind.  It is his ongoing, outgoing, self-sacrificing concern for lost and fallen, just as she was prior to finding her recovery.  God gives this love without condition, unreservedly to those who are undeserving and inferior to himself.

"In walking through my life and in my recovery I have witnessed God's "Agape Love" for me and I know without a doubt that without his love I would not be here today. It is because of HIS "Agape Love" that lead me to be a trauma therapist so I can help others in healing from traumas with showing them HIS "Agape Love". One of the important aspects of "Agape Love" is that it extends beyond emotions. It's much more than a feeling or a sentiment. "Agape Love" is active. It demonstrates love through actions. It is important to me to never lose sight of what God has done for me as well as my life''s work in spreading HIS love in helping others.
