Meet Mary
The focus of my therapeutic method is to empower and support my clients by introducing solutions to attain continued recovery from addictions, both physical and behavioral, and co-occurring mental health issues. I will inspire, motivate, and support you from the beginning, and I promise you are not alone. I'll be there to help guide and teach you the skills needed to grow beyond a life of addiction. I create a compassionate supportive experience and a safe space with no judgment for you to feel comfortable to open up in, an environment that fosters long term health and wellness.
While many people think of substances when they hear the word addiction, there are in fact hundreds of types of addiction that people struggle with. I work with the full spectrum of substance addiction as well as behavioral addictions. Some common substance addictions are alcohol, tobacco, opiates, prescription drugs, and street drugs. Common behavioral addictions include food/eating disorders, gambling, shopping, exercise, work, pain, relationship, or love. Many that struggle with impulse control can easily be led to different forms of addiction, both substance and behavioral. It is my goal to help people identify these components of their life, as well as look back to see what could have led them to where they are now. It is important to treat the cause (past experiences) as well as the symptom (the current addiction).
As a trained EMDR trauma therapist I implement a holistic approach. I see people as creative, resourceful, and whole. Each day I show up with the intention to inspire clients to believe in themselves again. I whole-heartedly believe that everything changes when we address core beliefs and traumas of the past, so you can move forward with your life.
Regardless of where you are in your life we will work together to set attainable goals, celebrate hard earned milestones, and help make the changes you want in your life to feel happy, content , and loving yourself and your life again.
